How do I get to see the Counsellor?

For Young People

If you need urgent help, please call emergency services on 999. Alternatively, you could call Childline on 0800 1111 or Samaritans on 116 123.

Everything you say to the counsellor is private unless you say something that means you or another young person are being significantly harmed or at risk of significant harm. It may be necessary to pass on what you say to other people to support you or the other young person. In submitting the referral form, you agree to these conditions.

For Adults
If you are an adult wishing to request an appointment for a young person to see a counsellor:

If the young person requires urgent help, please call emergency services on 999. Alternatively, you could call Childline on 0800 1111 or contact the young person’s GP.

Information supplied to the service is confidential unless something is disclosed that indicates a young person is being significantly harmed or is at risk of significant harm. In this case we may pass on the information to appropriate external services to support the young person.In submitting the referral form, you agree to these conditions.

ONLINE SERVICE

TalkingZone also has an online counselling service for young people aged between 11-17 years.

As well as the counsellor who works at your school, TalkingZone has an additional place which is safe and private where you can talk to a counsellor via live text chat or find help about some of the things that may be worrying you.

Online Counsellors are available each Thursday between 6pm-8pm.

TalkingZone Online also provides self help information and videos which are available 24hrs a day 7 days a week.
